Back view of the 1820s Archery gown - Jane Austen Festival Australia 2012

I am so excited, I sent an email to Manchester Art Gallery asking if there were any images of the back of the Archery gown and bingo! there are. See below for the images

Dear Lorna
You are in luck - this is a well photographed garment!

  1. I'm glad you got some help with photos of the dress. I really enjoy reading your blog and so admire your skill. I would love to try myself . Don't think I'd fit in one ( did they have cubby ladies ?? Lol) and here in the uk I'd have no where to go!

    1. Thank you, that's so kind!

Of course they had chubby ladies, I'm one, stays do wonderful things :)

I love to read your comments and thoughts on my posts.
